This is for all you people that like something a little different to the norm. You’ll love my oldskool DJ set if you remember your music from the 80’s & 90’s. If you do then I’ve got most of the big tracks.
Back when I first started DJing in the early 90’s I had a set of decks and used to collect vinyl from my local record store every week. I taught myself the basics of mixing and then started to DJ in the fun pubs and nightclubs playing the classic tunes of the day. My typical playlists included Livin Joy, Snap and Robin S to the harder Paul Van Dyk, Safri Duo and Energy 52.
Not only that I used to collect great 80’s and 90’s tracks ranging from Nirvana, Five, Blur, Backstreet Boys, Warren G to Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, Soft Cell, A-Ha and Rick Astley to name but a few.
Oldskool 80’s or Oldskool 90’s – Your Choice
With OLDSKOOL you have 2 choices. Either a traditional 1 or 2 hour oldskool DJ set at the end of the evening with a funky house warm up. Or you can style the night as you want it – from funky to trance the choice is yours. I can add a dance set to your evening using CD’s or for an additional cost the vinyl and decks (Technics 1210s) can come out to play. You and your guests can re-live those wild Ibiza nights.
OLDSKOOL DJ 90’s
You could have the same as the above, plus the added R’&’B, pop and indie/rock thrown in
OLDSKOOL DJ 80’s
A WHOLE night of classic 80’s songs ranging from rock, electric, new wave and cheesy pop etc. With the fantastic TV/Movie theme tune game during your buffet/meal.
OLDSKOOL DJ Decades
Few people fall directly in to one decade or the other. Most people have favourites from both the 80’s and the 90’s Why not get the best of both worlds and mix and match the whole lot?

Chris is a lovely, professional chap, who can’t do enough to help you. His charges are really reasonable too; I spoke to DJs that were more local to me, who wanted to charge the earth. He was prompt too and arrived before he was required for our wedding. It was nice for him to be involved in a few of the things that we had going on.
What sets Chris apart from other wedding DJ’s is that he really knows his oldskool music, listens to his crowd and plays a varied mix of songs. He is also open to you letting him know if you’ve got any specific requests.

I’m really glad that I found Chris to DJ at my 30th birthday party. Getting the right DJ can be the difference between a great party and an empty dance floor. Oldskool 80’s – “Worth Every Penny”
Celebrating my 50th birthday, I wanted to go back to the 80’s to the decade that meant the most musically. Finding the right DJ was crucial to the evening’s success. Chris was utterly professional from the emailed enquiry onwards. He clicked into the wavelength of the party goers very quickly, even the Bon Jovi fans ! Communication, payment etc. was easy.
Chris arrived early and proved really helpful in creating the correct atmosphere. The uplighters were brilliant and worth every penny. To get the party started Chris played an 80’s theme tune quiz which everyone enjoyed and started the memories flowing. I realised how much TV in the 80’s some of my guests had watched! The quality of the sound was excellent and Chris had the dance floor filled all the way all night. Lots of sore knees the following week were a testament to the fact no-one wanted to sit down! So all I can say is Book Him he’s good! He will do his utmost to make sure you get exactly what you want and he took some great pictures. I recommend him unreservedly. Will certainly be getting business from Berkswell again!

We booked Chris for our 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary party in September 2019, after reading other reviews online I liked what he had to offer and the fact that he would include a 80’s quiz at the start of the evening to get everyone in the mood. He didn’t disappoint, it was a fabulous disco and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening, the quiz was fab too, everyone enjoyed listening to music and questions and trying to answer as many as possible, quite a competition in the end. The actual disco was great, we sent Chris a playlist, quite a long one and he accommodated all this and more, plus other classics as we had asked for mainly 80’s. His set up was great and the uplighters added to the atmosphere! We would absolutely recommend Chris who did an amazing job, lovely guy too. Many thanks Chris!
