There are so many fantastic tunes to choose from and I have a massive collection to bring to your event. This includes all the classic big tunes but also a vast collection of more specialists favourites.

Rockin’ All over the… World 

After the Rock page launch in Summer 2015, the rock DJ bookings have gone from strength to strength – much to my delight as I love them!  In the past few years I have done gigs at Sanctum Soho – where I had the privilege to meet Mr. Roger Taylor – at an event for Sarina Taylor and Wildfire Tattoo Collective and Butlins Bognor Regis Electric Dreams weekend on the Progressive Rock Stage working with The Zombies and several other bands.  2019 is looking amazing with almost all the bookings currently taken being Rock and Indie related gigs.  I love my job being a Rock DJ! 🤘🏻🤟🏻

An Alternative DJ Covering the Music Genre Through the Decades

Rock

I can cover everything from up to date music right through to 60’s Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and The Who, into the 70’s with Queen, Led Zeppelin and T-rex, then to the 80’s with AC/DC and Black Sabbath. Let’s not forget the 90’s with Metallica and Green Day and more recent bands such as Jimmy Eat World, Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters.  Plus the ability to go heavier if necessary (MOSH PIT!)

Indie

The Indie set, which is slightly different with classic’s from The Smiths, The Clash, The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays, with some added Brit Pop like Pulp, Oasis and The Wonderstuff to name but a few will have your guests ‘Call the cops, cause you’re twistin my melons man’

Choose a complete night with just your favourites or tailor it to suit a wider audience – Each and every time I play my Indie rock DJ set, guests go wild and everybody has an amazing time singing and dancing like true rockers!

DJ Chris Mack turned up at our wedding and belted out classic tune after classic tune. It was a truly fantastic night listening to a variety of Northern Soul, Rock and Indie tunes spanning four different decades. I think it is fair to say he had the dance floor at his mercy. So many of our guests have said it was the best wedding disco ever.  I can’t thank Chris enough for all his efforts. Sweet crikey. Where to begin with how ace this man is:
So easy to contact – Chris rang us after my wife to be googled East Midlands rock DJ, but didn’t realise how far away he was. The moment he asked what point in the night he should play “Tribute” was the point we both said “this is the guy!” .(He was on speakerphone, we aren’t psychic.) From that point on Chris was in regular contact with us, updating our wedding playlist with all of the tracks we wanted on the night.

Game time – Chris rocks up with ample time to spare, sets up in minutes and cranks out the tunes everyone wants to hear. My band played after the first dance and he even recorded that! 4 hours later, with Beelzeboss ringing in our ears, we hit the last track and the night came to a close with everyone wanting more. Thank you Chris for rocking our evening reception so hard.

“We Knew We Had Found the Man for the Job After Speaking to Chris”

Music was a big deal for us at our wedding and we wanted to steer away from the traditional, cheesy wedding music. We knew we had found the man for the job after speaking to Chris!

Knowledgeable, professional and an all round great guy, he kept in contact throughout the whole lead up and happily sifted through the HUGE list of songs we sent him, attempting to play as many as he could throughout the night…and wow, what a party!!

The dance floor was filled the whole night and that’s all thanks to Chris – cannot praise or recommend him enough! We’ll definitely be using him again for future parties and passing on his details to everyone we know!

Totally epic music from Chris Mack at our wedding. From the moment I emailed to book him for or wedding, Chris has been amazing. He chatted through my music ideas for ages and was always super friendly and willing to put up with whatever wacky requests I sent through.

On the night the dance floor was full and packed the whole time. Everyone loved his set, and we all partied very hard. My ribs still hurt three days later from the epic rock -mosh-fest we had for the last two hours of the evening!

The CD he made for us was full of killer tunes and we listened to it while opening all of our lovely cards and gifts…we even had a dance around the kitchen to our first dance song. I would recommend Chris for any event. He’s the best DJ I’ve ever met, and (although I may be a bit biased) the music at our wedding was the best I’ve experienced.

Award Winning Alternative DJ “is Fantastic”

Chris is fantastic! I’ve heard of DJ’s taking requests but none asking you to send a playlist to make your disco more personal to you. Some of our songs were not your traditional dance floor fillers but Chris made it all work and topped the night off with an awesome selection of rock songs that we jumped and moshed about too.

All we can say is that our evening wouldn’t have been the same without him. I would recommend him to anyone who wants something more unique to them. None of our guests had been to a wedding reception that ended in a rock theme but they all loved it and keep talking about it. Thanks to Chris we had the perfect end to our perfect day.

Me and my wife Rebecca hired Chris to be our DJ for our wedding. From the first interaction he was amazing. He knew about his music and was very friendly and polite. Chris didn’t mind the distance he had to travel to get to our venue and arrived with plenty of time and was a reasonable price.

Focused on playing the music we loved and got everyone dancing. He even gave us a CD of special songs we had played through out the evening which was a really nice touch and record our first dance.

He even did a couple of sets of Sega music for my Mauritian family which went down a storm. I seriously can not fault this guy one bit! He was the perfect DJ in every way for our wedding and I would always recommend him and even use him again if I ever needed to.

I needed a DJ for my 50th birthday party who specialised in rock music but who could also satisfy the broad range of ages and musical tastes likely to attend. I found Chris through a Google search and was immediately impressed by his professional approach. My preferred playlist of bands/songs was extensive, stretching from the 60’s up to date. He played them all and more besides!

We had a fancy dress theme and Chris was on the ball playing theme tunes from the likes of Flintstones, Ghostbusters, Muppets etc. as the characters walked in, hilarious! I would recommend that you ask him about his film and TV theme tune quiz which went down extremely well during the buffet. All our guests commented how good the DJ was. Chris will be the first person we call for any future events.

Alternative DJ Got Guests “Pogoing”

We booked Chris for our 10th wedding anniversary/vow renewal due to a close friend recommending him. Chris was very attentive all throughout the run up to the party asking for lists of bands and songs that we love and any special songs we would like on the evening.

As me and the hubster are into rock and punk (and a bit of metal at a push 😉 ) we were positive this is the music we wanted all night with a few exceptions. Chris did not disappoint us at all. His set was amazing :). Even checking with us when he got a few dodgy requests from drunk guests! we had a fabulous evening, relived our first dance and pogo’d like idiots most of the night.

We had so many people comment on what an amazing night and what a fab job Chris did. I would thoroughly recommend Chris and am already thinking of our 20th year celebrations!

Alternative DJ Review: “Instantly Got the Floor Filled”

We were first introduced to Chris whilst at a friends wedding the year before our own.  He impressed with his set up, with his attitude towards the night and to how he met the wishes of the bride and groom.
We contacted him shortly after for our own wedding as our wish was potentially a little out of the ordinary for a wedding.
With me being an avid fan of rock, metal, punk and alternative music and my bride a big fan of cheesy classics it was never going to be an easy thing to achieve.

Though through discussing with Chris we decided on having some classic pop songs to start the night off with whilst children and the older generation we still up and dancing then turning into a heavier set later on in the night.
We were also very impressed with the cost for the night and booked immediately with Chris having spoken to several other DJ’s before.
The set was exactly as we discussed with the dancefloor being full all night (which was very important to us). The pop music to start off with was a great draw.
A very welcome surprise was the introduction of a theme tunes quiz during the buffet which went down brilliantly with everyone of our 160 guests really getting into it.
The first dance was done with class. Chris made sure everyone was up at the dance floor to watch what was a very magical moment for me and Katie.

Alternative DJ – “Followed Up Each Song with Another Amazing Rock Anthem”

When it was time for the rock music I had given Chris a small list of the types of songs we wanted played. The opening rift of Metallica’s amazing cover of Whiskey in the Jar instantly got the floor filled with friends and family alike. From here until the end of the night Chris followed up each song with another amazing rock anthem.

Those that initially got up continued to remain on the dance floor all night to great songs from the Foo Fighters and the like.
I’ve never seen a rock set where there isn’t one song which has driven a few people away with rock music being such a varied taste yet every song was brilliant. This took some doing on Katie’s part due to her huge dress and high shoes but she was determined to stay on the dance floor.
The next morning we got nothing but compliments on the music during the evening with those who were up dancing rubbing a sore neck and those that had been watching commenting on how amazing it was to watch how happy everyone who was up was. We found out the next morning that a couple who were at our night do had approached Chris during the night and got his details.  I believe they have also now booked him for their wedding.

I booked Chris as the DJ for my 21st Birthday party and chose him mainly for his enthusiasm & knowledge of indie & rock music. There’s not many DJs about who could promise to play the type of music I listen to.

The DJ is a massive part of any event, so I wanted to make sure I made the right choice! Chris certainly didn’t disappoint – from start to finish, he was great to work with & played a great mix of indie & rock music throughout. Exactly what I wanted!
I requested some lesser known songs before the party. Chris made sure he had every one of them. He even took the time to listen to some other songs by the bands and artists I requested, so he had more of their songs to play on the night!

I was really impressed with the amount of bands and artists Chris already had on file. He obviously has a passion for indie and rock music, too. I felt that he understood exactly what I was looking for with the music and made it a brilliant night!

We picked Chris for our wedding for his knowledge of the genres that suited our tastes. He did not disappoint us. He was there on time, knew what he was doing to set himself up. This gave us one less thing to think about. He was ready when we were. His playlist was excellently put together.

He blended our picks with classics and new material as the feel of the evening demanded. He was appropriately entertaining, knew his stuff and responded to the night as it developed. We had a great night and Chris really helped to make that happen.

The music at any party can make it, or ruin it! Well, with Chris you are in very safe hands.  A party your family and friends will be talking about for weeks, months and, no doubt, years to come.

For the evening part of our wedding we wanted a DJ who would play our kind of music, which leans towards rock music. I sent Chris a list of the artists and some songs that we would definitely like to have. He didn’t disappoint! We went from Dolly Parton, to AC/DC to Lionel Richie, with many more in between. Chris listened to what we asked for and he gave the most amazing party mix ever.

Friends of ours, who had got married a couple of weeks previously repeatedly told me that they wished Chris had been their DJ.  He was the best DJ ever! They were not the only guests who told us this.

  Chris is an awesome DJ, from the first time we spoke in May we knew he was the right DJ for our wedding! We wanted someone who enjoyed the same music as us and would play the alternative music that we like. After having no luck finding someone local we then found Chris who travelled a very long way to play at our wedding! We thoroughly enjoyed the music and it was so lovely that he also took photos of our first dance and gave us a CD of our music choices.  After contacting varying companies who claimed they will literally play anything and then revealing that anything meant “not metal or rock”, we were lucky enough to find Chris via google. We hired Chris to play at our wedding reception at the end of December 2018. We wanted a rock and metal reception, but with the majority of our guests being older relatives and guests with quite different tastes, we needed a compromise. Chris helped us work out all the details of said compromise and was incredibly friendly and accommodating to our needs. The wedding was held in Hampshire which meant Chris had to commute a long ass way AND on his birthday too! Everyone had a great night, everyone commented on the great range of music played! For our wedding, we were looking for someone who knew their rock and metal and after multiple people recommending Chris to us we decided hire his services and we couldn’t have asked for better.

Chris asked us for a cross section of what music/songs /artists we liked and we sent him a list containing bands ranging from everything from Foo Fighters to lamb of god to behemoth and cannibal corpse.

When it came to the night itself he knocked it out of the park, he played enough to keep the oldies happy at the beginning and by the end of the night everyone was on the dance floor head banging away.

Since then we have had loads of messages telling us how much they loved the music even the “normies” who don’t touch metal have said they loved it.
